Superstition: Book to encourage people to remember old superstitions.

Superstitions are a part of history that are quickly being forgotten. This book encourages people to remember them by taking a small selection of these traditions and representing each one typographically. Each typeface was created to show the playfulness and the individual qualities of each superstition.

The Secret History: Book cover design

I based this design on a turning point within the story in which a letter is found that reveals a dark secret. The design takes on the look and feel of an envelope and requires you to break the seal before reading, The reader wouldn’t notice its relevance until reaching that crucial point within the book.

Once opening the cover a pattern made of hundreds of snowflakes is revealed similar to the pattern you get in any envelope. I chose a snowflake because of the setting of the book and also because of its relevance throughout the story.
